Capacity building programs cost INR 40,000 for 20+ frontline Forest Dept staff School programs average INR 15,000 each. Each school program reaches 200+ kids, and community events reach 100+ villagers. Each tracking radio costs INR 22,500. 3 trackers' expenses come to more than a lakh monthly (>1,00,000 INR). Our local staff from Vadanemmeli village are the backbone of our organization. Whenever any disaster has struck such as cyclones and floods, they are the first to respond. This COVID-19 crisis is no different. The local staff has made sure that our animals are fed on time and are taken good care of. We were also fortunate that the Home Ministry has declared that the operation of a Zoo is an essential service.
